After a very long break, the Sussex committee recently held a meeting. You can read the minutes of this meeting.
Emma Ballancore recently stepped down from the position of "county chair". The county's "secretary" position is also vacant. These positions are temporarily filled by Sally-Anne Warner (Hawth) and Richard Keasley (Hawth) until a new committee can be elected at the AGM.
Very few clubs are now involved in the management of Sussex Gymnastics. It will take a huge effort to restart activities after such a long break. All affiliated clubs must get involved rebuilding their disciplines if they wish to have events running in this county.
There will be no Sussex Championships for combined disciplines in 2022. The committee hopes the clubs active in each disciplines will organise an event as appropriate.
AGM
The next Sussex meeting will be the Annual General Meeting. This will be held at K2 Leisure Centre on 11 May 2022.
All clubs should make the effort to send a representative to this meeting. The last two years have been difficult for everyone involved in this sport. Sussex Gymnastics must now re-build which will require the help and support of all its member clubs.
Sussex Constitution
Sussex Gymnastics is affiliated to British Gymnastics (our National Governing Body). As such Sussex Gymnastics will not allow clubs to affiliate if the club (and their members) are not affiliated to British Gymnastics.
The Sussex Gymnastics constitution (in the library) will be re-worded to emphasise these aims. These alterations will be communicated at a later date, for adoption in May 2022.
Please let us have your thoughts on this, and any other parts of the constitution you feel should be changed.
