Sussex Trampoline & DMT Discipline Report
15th July 2026
Sussex Gymnastics Meeting
Sussex Competitions since last meeting
There have been no competitions run by Sussex Gymnasticswithin Sussex since Club Levels have been included into the Regional Levels events at Gillingham. There will be three of these events held again this season between October 2026 and March 2027, dates will be released by the South East Region. The profit from the club levels created from Sussex participants at these three events will be credited to Sussex Gymnastics
Sussex Championships 2026 for Individual Trampoline, Synchro Trampoline and Double Mini Trampoline are taking place on Sunday 11th October 2026 in Durrington. The closing date for this is 12th September 2026
In January Sussex Gymnastics hosted a TrampolineJudging Workshop in Durrington which was well received and is most appreciated to aid Sussex affiliated Trampoline Clubs to gain new and revalidate current Trampoline Judges which in turn supports clubs and greater participation into Trampoline Events. We would like to run this again if there is enough interest from clubs. For Regional events this season clubs are required to supply not only Club level judges, but the requirements are also tiered towards being required to supply County and Regional level judges too. Therefore, clubs need to be prepared in good time for these officials to be SE Validated prior to entry
Recent Success, Trampoline and DMT disciplines had Sussex Gymnasts participate at both the recent Inter-Regional Team Finals (with South East Gymnastics Team) and at English Championships, with a few winning themselves medals

Sussex Gymnastics County Treasurers Report
1st April to 30th June 2026
I would like to acknowledge the wonderful job Keith Walter has done for Sussex Gymnastics for many years and am very proud to be stepping into his shoes. I hope that I am able to continue his great work and will endeavour to fulfil the role to the best of my ability.
The start of this financial year saw a very healthy brought forward balance in both the current account and the Skipton savings account. Keith spent an enormous amount of time on the phone setting me up as the Primary User on the HSBC account. In order to be able to complete this, I then had to set up telephone banking, which again took some time, however all is finally in place. I have now set up a savings account with HSBC, called the Business Money Manager (BMM) account. Monies can be transferred to and from this account with ease. It is an interest bearing account (interest is paid monthly) with no fee. As it is classified as an Instant Access account, the current interest rate is 1.2% which is not very high(Skipton is only 2.05% currently), but more than simply leaving money in the current account. I do not yet have access to the Shipton Building Society account and it will need to be decided if we wish to close the account and transfer all the savings into the BMM account to make life easier as there is no Skipton branch in the area.
Since April, five Clubs have received £1,426.50in 50% grants towards their training costs.
The entry for the WAG team to enter the Rosebowl International was paid amounting to £410.
Lisa was reimbursed for her accommodation costs for the GB Development Squad 17th to 19thApril and she also led the first County Squad training session of the year on 17th May.
The Sussex GG F&V ABSG took place on 14thJune at Hawth GC. Although Kim said it normally loses money, it has actually made £99.09 this year however there is still some income to come. The next competition will be the Sussex Invitational on 19th July at Horsham GC.

Sussex Gymnastics Welfare Report July 2026
Since the last meeting Dawn was the competition welfare officer at the Sussex Floor and Vault at K2. Sadly, the Centre were not looking at disabilities as a whole regarding the use of toilet provision.
Our visits to Gym Clubs have raised a few issues:
Clubs employing 13- to 16-year-olds and not complying with local authority requirements for registration and maximum working hours
Brighton and Hove Apply for permission to employ a child
East Sussex Child Employment | East Sussex County Council
West Sussex Child work permit - West Sussex County Council
Also a reminder of the British Gymnastics concussion protocol
Finally Dawn picked up on this worrying trend. A reminder of the dangers of posting photos of young athletes on line. A school posted photo of a winning team. A few days later the School received a blackmail threat as the images had been AI deepfake altered into explicit photos and the threat was to pay up or the pictures would be released onto the Internet!
UK schools blackmailed with sexualised AI deepfakes of pupils, experts warn | The Independent
