The Sussex Gymnastics Committee Meeting was held on Wednesday 15th October 11am at the John Selden, BN13 2EN.

1. Minutes of the last meeting

The minutes from the last meeting were reviewed - no one had any questions regarding these.

2. Chair's Report

There was no chair’s report for this meeting.

3. Treasurer’s Report

Report attached

Lots of funding applications being made.

Clubs making the most of the applications and more clubs aware.

Less than half of the set out budget for this was used for the last year.

The funding criteria is on website - max 900 pounds per club.

South East can also provide funding. 

Less from High Performance Funding this year.

Get Sussex more known within the community.

More money in savings this year - lots in bank, if no penalty to take it out, move from there to savings.

Stella Jackson - going to take over from Keith after next years AGM.

Dawn to get car magnets for promotion - Richard to send over logo.

No county comps til next march.

Judging and coaching workshop day for youth leaders - budget sheet made, funding asked for - Dawn to do a welfare talk at this.

Hoping to put on a judging workshop for trampoline as courses have been taken away - send liaison to Lisa/Keith/Emma.

Sussex champs - before regionals to help change things if needed. 

Over 160 gymnasts.

9 gymnasts from Sussex in regional squad.

4 Sussex gymnasts in national finals.

Funding from county helped towards new leotards.

One gymnast selected for Northern Europeans.

 

5. Welfare Report

Dawn has visited lots of clubs - attended the Sussex tumble competition - Mike to attend acrobatics competition.

Dawn off to Bradford for welfare conference - county will contribute to this - submit funding to treasurer. 

5th Nov - 10am til 12/1 (walk and talk) active Sussex welfare group, coffee, pastry and connect at the Amex - guest speakers. 

 

6. Any other business

6.1 Surrey Club in General Gymnastics Competitions

Request from Woking GG - as no Surrey comps, can they join in with Sussex?

Sussex and Open comp - may potentially need to occur. 

Pass round info to find out gymnasts in each level - extra cost for their entry - if too many, look ahead to next year and different venues. 

Fitting it into calendar - pull out feelers - all agreed with committee.

Brief conversation had about how BG plan to change their format.

Hosts for add on technical modules to provide gymnasts

No tutor course until May

New L2 - then sport specific add on modules

L3 development coaches

6.3 Next Meeting

Venue nearer Hastings way for Wednesday 4th Feb meeting - venue TBC. This will be a daytime meeting.
