Festival discipline report October 2025
Chichester gymnastics club update:
CGA had just the best time ever (in Disney), everyone loved it. It was our 4th time attending this competition this year, but this time around was our biggest team yet. We had 50+ dances across all of them and they all worked so hard throughout the year to make sure they were ready for October. We hope to return again in the future! We came home with 4 silvers and 3 bronzes. 🥈🥉 Congratulations to Dyson!
We’re finishing of the year with our Annual Christmas Display, and currently preparing to advertise for new display members in 2026. Most of the team are staying on which is great! We are also going to hopefully attend the Alton Towers event too. 🤩 We saw it pop up a little while ago and loved the Ministrada in Blackpool in 2024, plus it seems great fun. We hope to also go back to Gymnasia in Birmingham, Gymstarz in London, The London Gymnastics Festival in Essex and either the Ministrada in Liverpool or Blackpool. 🪩 Facebook is a great place to find events...
Dysons club update:
We attended Gymnasique Magique in Disneyland Paris and everyone had a wonderful time with our Cruella routine bringing home a third place trophy and medals.  All of our seniors have now retired from the group and so we are looking to 2026 for fun Uk options for our Juniors and all new members.Â
We are looking to take part in around 3 events over the year and are particularly excited to have found a festival event being hosted at Alton Towers.
Â
Other clubs in Sussex taking part:
I am always interested in hearing from any club that is actively involved in festivals at whatever level they like to take part so please do contact me if you are doing anything from small local fairs to big international events.
For any clubs interested in getting involved in Festivals here are a list of future events:
International events:
Â
World Gymnaestrada - once every 4 years, the next one is being held in 2027 in Lisbon, Portugal.
For lots of info on this event this is the lady to speak to:
And once info is available it will appear here:
https://www.british-gymnastics.org/international-festivals
This one is for all ages, I'm pretty sure it has a minimum group size and I think it might be 8 children but don't hold me to that, we went in 2023 with 12 children :)
Â
Euro gym for life - every other year, the next one is being held in 2026 in Pistoia, Italy. Entries close in October.
Contact and info page are the same as the above.
This one is only open to 12-18 year olds and has a minimum group number, which has previously been 6 but is updated each time it runs.
Â
World gym for life challenge - once every 4 years, one running this year so next one is 2029 but no details for it yet (as they are still working on this years).Â
Contact I would expect to be Kayla but could change and page is the same as the one above. If you want to get lots more info on this one, they have this year's handbook available on the page above so you can get a good idea of whats involved.
They have no age limits and minimum group size of 2 gymnasts.
Â
Gymnastique Magique - held every year in October in Disneyland Paris.
For more info and to be included in their emails in future contact:
The web page for info is here:
Gymnastique Magique at Disneyland® Paris - Welcome
This is open to all ages and no minimum number to attend as they run solo & duo competitions as well as the group ones.
Â
UK events
Â
GymFusion - run each year, although from the 15 or so when they started, we are down to only 3 running now

Tumble Report – October 2025
There’s not a great deal to report this month, as since our last update, Sussex Tumble has only participated in one competition — the Sussex Championships, held on 28th September 2025.
As always, it was a fantastic day enjoyed by all. We were thrilled to welcome all Sussex clubs once again, and each performed brilliantly, bringing home a great number of medals.
We were especially excited to welcome a new club from the 1066 area, who joined us for the second time. It’s always great to see the Sussex tumble community growing, and we look forward to seeing more from them in future events.
Both Nikki and I would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended and contributed to making the event such a success. We’re also incredibly grateful for the continued support shown to us and to Sussex Tumble over the years — it truly means a lot.

Sussex Gymnastics Welfare Report October 2025
Â
Since the last meeting Dawn has visited several clubs giving advice, she also attended the Sussex Tumble Competition last month as the Competition Welfare officer.
Â
Later this month Mike is the Competition Welfare Officer for the Sussex Acro competition.
Â
Sussex Police, in conjunction with the Active Sussex Welfare Officers, have relaunched the forum for welfare leads in sports and LADOs. The online meeting gives us an opportunity to network with welfare leads from other sports and to share good practice. The forum meets every 3 months with the next meeting in Early December.
Â
Dawn will be attending the BG national conference for Regional and Club Welfare Officers in Bradford in November.

Sussex Gymnastics County Treasurers Report
1 April to 30 September 2025
At the end of September 5 competitions have been completed and 3 more are underway or completed awaiting final costs.
The numbers competing are not as great as last year however our competitions are well managed and give a return to the county once all costs have been paid.
Â
There have been 18 applications for training grants from 9 different clubs so far, with another 2 applications in progress. Grants asked for are in the main for level 1-3 BG coaching courses, and only one application has been received for HP funding and one for England squad expenses.
Even though take up is much higher this year there is money available to apply for, to cover lots of different training some up to 100% of costs are covered, look at the county web site for more information.
Â
Following approval at the AGM an additional £5000 has been transferred from the bank account to the county savings account where it will earn interest for us.
Â
Our bank has written to say the £5 monthly charge for operating our account has been stopped, although small that is a step in the right direction. Interest at our bank is not open to us, hence our separate interest bearing savings account which as I reported last quarter earnt £763 last year
