Open to 1 hour, 2 hour and 4-hour gymnasts of ages above 7yrs we had 337 entries from over the county along with a few new clubs,

Successful fun and relaxed day, with around 25 youth leaders helping throughout the daytaking on the roles of Group leaders, shadow judging, MC and helping to run control, this year’s youth leaders were from the following clubs: Brighton Worthing, Wickers and Regis.

County champs for ABSG level will be again held at Hawth Gymnastics club K2 Leisure center on 14th June .

Online entries are now open via gymevent.

Budget sheet for this competition will be sent to the county chair/ secretary and treasurerin the coming week.

WE WOULD LIKE TO ASK ANYONE WHO WOULD BE AVIALBLE TO HELP ON THE DAY TO COME FORWARD AND ALSO, WE WILL NEED HELP WITH SET UP THE EVEING BEFORE IF LOCAL CLUBS CLOSE TO K2 COULD SEND 1 OR 2 CAPABLE PERSONS TO MOVE EQUIPMENT IT WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED.

2. Regional Judging workshop based on the new criteria for our regional and county judges took place on 26th April, over in Kent as we were unable to secure a venue suitable in Sussex. We would like to thank our Sussex women’s rep and esteemed national judge Lisa Jesico for giving her expertise, on a very successful and informative day. We would still like to run an additional county based Judging workshop at the start of the autumn term (Details to follow).

3. We would like to still run a Sussex county young development leaders/ coachesworkshop and will give opportunity for all clubs across the county to be involved, We are hoping to get BG regional coaching development team to attend this event, to give support and advise to the coaches/ clubs on the new foundation level qualifications, as well as covering safe guarding for young coaches and options that are available for them within their clubs.

4. We have also been looking into 4x4 comp for the county but are still struggling to find a venue to accommodate our timetable within a realistic budget and venue availability. We will keep looking and hopefully have something by the end of 2027 in place

Action to be taken in the next 6 months.

1. Look into starting Back up the Sussex 4x4 also in 2026/2027
2. Book in Youth leader and junior coaches’ workshop 2026
3. Book comp dates for 2027 – info will go straight to Emily to put on Sussex website by end of Summer holidays.
